16 OUTER SHELL Homologated to ECE 22.06, DOT, and FIM standards, the Supertech R10’s shell construction utilizes highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination featuring a 3K high-density carbon outer later, a uni-directional carbon composite layer, and an aramid fiber and a fiberglass layer. The 3K high-density carbon outer layer provides excellent strength and efficiency of energy dissipation over the shell. The uni-directional carbon composite layer provides significantly greater radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection for reducing transmitted impact energy. The aramid fiber and fiberglass layer provides critical penetration protection. Everything is bonded together with an advanced epoxy resin already applied on the pre-preg fiber. The helmet shell itself comes available in four anatomical sizes, offering construction optimized to ensure riders have the correct fit. INNER SHELL LINEAR AND ROTATIONAL IMPACT PROTECTION The inner shell is made in multi-density EPS material, to permit the required impact absorption properties exactly where they are required. The EPS liner, just like the outer shell, has its own unique dimension for each helmet size. Specific rotational impact protection is provided by the combination of the internal shape and specific coating of the EPS liner, coupled to a specially-developed surface in the comfort liner. This patented technology reduces rotational acceleration transmitted to the rider’s head.

17 AERODYNAMICS The Supertech R10 helmet has been developed in a full-scale wind tunnel from the outset of its development. Aerodynamic targets for coefficient of drag in different head positions, as well as stability at different angles, were a primary goal in the helmet shape development, first extensively developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics, then validated in a full-scale wind tunnel and finally on track. The result is S-R10, a helmet that achieves the lowest level of drag, and the highest level of aerodynamic stability at high speeds. Road riders will benefit from this too with reduced strain on their neck at high speed and low levels of wind noise. The S-R10 comes with two separate aerodynamic spoilers – a standard, and longer race version – and they’re both fitted with Alpinestars patented release system, with elastic joints that help the spoiler detach from the helmet shell if it is subjected to a significant impact. There are also lateral winglets to further support the helmet’s stability and improve aerodynamic drag. In addition, the helmet visor has turbulators to improve aero-acoustic performance. As a result, compared to the aerodynamic performance of the helmet in the standard set-up, the configuration with the race spoiler and aero winglets reduces drag by an additional 4.54%.

18 VENTILATION The S-R10 is equipped with extensive ventilation points: 11 ventilation ports, 7 intakes including 3 in the chinguard and 4 on the top, plus 4 exhausts, with 2 lateral ports on the chin bar, and 2 on the top rear of the helmet. Chin Vent: This is formed by two openings located at the front of the helmet at the sides of the shield lock mechanism. Each flap has a tab in the corner, which is used to open or close the vent; air entering from this point will be channeled towards the inner side of the shield, and this air effectively prevents fogging and misting. There is also a third ventilation point, located in the middle of the chin area, just below the shield lock: air entering from this point will be channeled towards the inner side of the shield to further prevent misting and fogging. This port is closeable by a rubber bung. Chin Bar Extractor Vents: These are used to extract humid air to the outside of the helmet. Rear Extractor Vents: Under the rear spoiler there are two extractor vents for effective hot air exhausting Top Vent: Activating the large Astars central slider channels air to the top of the head for superior airflow and comfort.

19 Visor metal lock SHIELD The S-R10 is fitted with an ECE 2206 homologated, optical Class 1 shield, with anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment. The shield varies in thickness from 1.6mm on the sides to 2.6mm in the center, and is provided with pins to attach a Pinlock 120XLT 100% Max Vision lens (included, plus, pins provided for tear-offs with one included. The visor has two unique features including a metal locking mechanism lever on the side and a metal lock on the chin area to prevent unwanted shield detachment during impacts and/or crashes, plus a lowered side line for maximized field of view, coming on top of an already outstanding wide eye port providing 220-degrees of lateral and 57-degrees of vertical visibility for great riding comfort. The shield attaches to the shell via side mechanisms that allow the shield to rotate and to move in order to seal it completely against the helmet’s rubber window trim. A-HEAD FITMENT SYSTEM Adding to the personalization and custom, tailor-made fit of the SR10 is its unique and patented A-Head fitment system. The A-Head system allows the helmet to be tuned exactly to the rider’s preference by having the ability to adjust both the height and angle at which the helmet sits on the head. With the micro-adjustable pad that is connected to the helmet inner EPS liner, the A-Head design allows for an ultra-specific setup that can be adapted to how deep the rider’s head sits in the helmet, as well as how far forward or back it is tilted.

20 REMOVABLE LINING All linings are removable and washable, and feature fabrics with antimicrobial treatments. Crown Pad: The crown pad and the neck pad are elastically connected for enhanced oblique impact management, with a construction based on four panels (front, sides, rear) for an optimized fit with the proper foam thickness in the right area. Top Pad: The top pad is removable and height adjustable via the A-Head System. Cheek Pads: The cheek pads are fitted 3D foam incorporating channels to accommodate spectacles, and also feature an emergency extraction system (ERS) and a channel for hydration tube installation. Chin Curtain: A chin curtain is also included with the helmet, allowing riders to enjoy protection against air entering from the lower side. Chin Strap: The 25mm wide nylon chin strap is equipped with stainless steel DD rings for a secure fit. Ear Pads: Side ear pads are fixed under each cheek pad and help to improve comfort by reducing the aerodynamic noise inside the helmet. Wind Deflector: A wind deflector is included with the helmet, and when fitted this aids the aerodynamic behavior of the helmet. Breath Deflector: A breath deflector is included with the helmet, and when fitted this helps prevent fogging and misting.

21 COLLARBONE DESIGN A specifically developed protection feature is visible in the chin bar’s profile, where the base area has been specifically sculpted to give a relief section. The bottom profile is not only raised to clear the collarbone, but also, instead of the hard carbon shell coming into potential contact with the collarbone, it’s actually the softer EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) liner which extends beyond the helmet shell itself, and is covered by a more flexible rubber compound. This design provides a reduced chance of any sort of collarbone injury, one of the more common injuries in motorcycling.

Since pioneering airbag technology for MotoGP in 2003 with the Tech-Air® Race System, Alpinestars has expanded airbag protection for across motorsports disciplines, with testing of the Tech-Air® Off-Road System by Dakar Rally riders beginning in 2014. Building on our expertise from MotoGP and Dakar Rally, Alpinestars began MX-specific data logging in 2016 with top athletes in AMA Supercross, Motocross, and FIM MXGP. This extensive research led to the creation of Tech-Air® MX System, featuring a sophisticated activation algorithm that provides precise and rapid airbag deployment in the challenging and dynamic environments that MX and Supercross riders encounter – such as ruts, berms, jumps and whoops—ensuring riders are fully protected in the sport’s most challenging and toughest conditions. Featuring a water resistant man chassis and a waterproof ECU and electronics, this slim, selfcontained system CAN ALSO BE WORN under a motorcycle jacket, including any Alpinestars’ compatible jacket, and any leather or textile jacket, providing that the jacket has sufficient space to accommodate the inflation of the airbag.
